Welcoming Bennet David

Oh man, I just love a newborn. I could snuggle and nuzzle them forever and a day. And I have good reason to love this one most of all. In early July we welcomed a little boy to our family, named Bennet David Browning (after the Bennets of Pride and Prejudice), and we couldn’t be more thrilled he’s finally here. He’s only been earthside for one month, but it feels like he’s been part of our family forever (isn’t that the way with babies?)

After 41 weeks of pregnancy and 20+ hours of prolonged labor, he finally agreed to come out and join us (I guess he was cozy in there), and we have been adjusting to life as a family of 5 since then. Thankfully he’s been a remarkably mellow and easy newborn, which I’m hoping is a sign of his personality and not just a phase of the early baby days. 😀 There’s some proof of that here, in that he could only hang with me for the first few photos of our shoot and then decided to just sleep through the rest of it. I’ll take it! Happy one month, baby boy!
